On 2nd October, Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of a great leader and protagonist of peace Mahatma Gandhiji. 2nd October is also Sastry Jayanti. People celebrate Dussehra, a very significant festival of Hindus, which celebrates the victory of good over evil. Maharishi Valmiki's Birthday and Karva Chouth will also be observed during this month.
