In the wake of the tragedy, the armed forces have once again shown why they command the nation's respect and admiration by the manner in which they have gone about assisting the civil administration in the rescue efforts, despite 20 of their personnel perishing in an air crash while trying to rescue people stranded in a perilous part of the hillside. It's a national calamity of mammoth proportions, and Uttarakhand will probably never recover fully from the tragedy. Tributes and promises of succour, both material and financial, have been pouring in for those affected. We at Cengo India blogpost pay tribute to all those who have lost their lives and livelihood in the Himalayan tsunami. Join us, by lighting a candle for the victims of the tragedy. |
