The Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officers Organisations, Tamil Nadu, regional meeting was held on 22nd March 2014 in the 3rd Floor, Conference Hall ,O/o the Central Excise Main building Nungambakkam High Road, Chennai. Representatives from Audit and Accounts officers, CPWD Engineers, Railway Promotee Officers, Central Excise Officers, Pay and Accounts Officers, Defence Officers, Statistical Officers, Postal Accounts Officers, Survey Officers, Postal Officers, Customs Preventive Officers, Zoological Survey officers and Income Tax Officers, attended. Shri.S.Chandra Sekar, President, Chennai Unit & Secretary, South Zone All India Central Excise Gazetted Executive Officers Association welcomed the gathering.

Shri. Bhaskar Bhattacharya, the newly elected, dynamic and committed, Secretary General of Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association was also participated. In his address, he reiterated his as well as his organisation’s commitment to the confederation and he expressed his commitment to build a vibrant united organisation of Gazetted officers of the Central Government.

Shri.S. Mohan, Convenor, briefly explained the situation prevailing in the country in the background of appointment of 7th Pay Commission its constitution, and the developments that had taken place in the Confederation Front. He stressed the urgent need for to organise a national level convention to finalise our charter and our common memorandum to the 7th pay commission and to rejuvenate the confederation. After a detailed discussion it has been decided unanimously as follows.

1. National level one day convention will be held at Delhi on April 17th 2014 to deliberate and to decide about our future pathways and Standard Operating Procedures.

2. It will be arranged by the Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association

3. All the Federations/Associations of Group B and Promotee officers with All India Character would participate in the convention.

4. Minimum one and maximum three of the office bearers of the Each Federation/Association would be eligible to participate

5. Ratification of the decisions taken in the workshop held at Chennai in the presence of Apex level leadership of the confederation would be sought.

6. The Convention would strive for rejuvenating the Confederation by selecting/electing a suitable leadership for the confederation.
