Sub: Biometric attendance system.
Sir,
Kindly
refer to the Ref. No. 220/BA/14 Dt. 04.12.14 of the
Association on the above subject.
2.
Your kind attention is invited to the news item published in
the National daily namely Hindustan. As per the news item, the Indian Medical
Association has warned the private as well as government organizations that the
biometric machines may also transmit the swine flu. The President of the Indian
Medical Association has said that the virus of the swine flu stays on the
sensor of the machine, even if it is punched by a fully recovered individual
already suffered by the disease. In such a situation, the virus shall enter
into the body of the other healthy individuals using the machine. So, the
Indian Medical Association has asked to use other alternative replacing
biometric attendance.
3. No need to submit that the
swine flu has already become an epidemic causing thousands of deaths in our
country as per the news items, electronic as well as print. Therefore, it is
the responsibility of we all to take the due measures to save our officers from
this epidemic. If we keep silent on the issue, we all will be responsible for
any casualty if happens in this regard. Many of the private hospitals have
already stopped the biometric attendance system as a measure against this
epidemic. It is also worth to mention that the possibility of transmitting many
other viral and bacterial diseases by the biometric machines may not be ruled
out.
4.
In view of the above, it is requested that the biometric attendance system may
kindly immediately be stopped and only the already existing provisions may
kindly be followed to ascertain the attendance of our officers. No need to
submit that the matter is to be taken very seriously.
Thanking
you,
Yours faithfully,
(RAVI MALIK),
Secretary General.
