“To whom it may concern”
After receiving queries about the use of the uniform from Lucknow Unit, the units of the North Zone were consulted. The unanimous view of the other units of the Zone is that we should feel proud to salute our National flag in the uniform.
As far as the question of the routine use of the uniform is concerned, the matter had already been raised before the CBIC clearing our stand that uniform should be applicable for all officers from top to bottom, if CBIC wants to continue with the uniform. It was also reiterated by the Association that the officers shouldn’t be forced to wear the uniform where it is not required during the disposal of the official duties. No need to reiterate that it is not to be worn for unofficial or appeasement purposes.
As far as the order of the information commission is concerned, it has been said to CBIC to consider issuing the detailed and clear guidelines in this regard. The matter will again be reminded to the CBIC.
