To,

Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman,

Hon’ble Minister of Finance,

North Block, New Delhi.

Sub: Highhanded and inhumane attitude of the authorities towards staff.

Madam,

Your kind attention is invited to the Office Order No. 8 Dt. 08.04.22 o/o the Commissioner of Customs, Agartala (enclosed herewith). By the said order, some unscheduled visit of your goodself  alongwith some other CBIC dignitaries has been communicated for which no date has been finalised.

            2. In the name of the said unscheduled visit, the leaves of the staffside have been cancelled for unlimited period and they have been ordered to attend the office even on Saturdays and Sundays.

            3. It is submitted with due regards that such orders show how highhanded & inhumane attitude the CBIC authorities have towards staffside and treat them merely like slaves. Due to such attitude, not only promotee Asstt. Commissioners are taking VRS on daily basis but our Group B officers are also facing tremendous pressure, humiliation, harassment, discrimination and insult. The burning example is the resignation tendered by one Inspector namely Sh. Abhijat Srivastava being circulated on electronic media (copy enclosed). Needless to submit that our officers are already facing the worst career prospects and pay packages in comparison to their counterparts.

            4. Under such circumstances, totally a non-working atmosphere has been created which may result in the collapse of our revenue system. HRD policies have totally failed. It seems that our CBIC has no vision for welfare of staffside.

            5. In view of the above, it is requested to kindly take suitable measures-

(i) To save the staffside from highhanded, inhumane and slavery treatment.

(ii) Improve their career prospects & pay packages at par with their counterparts at least.

            Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Encls: As above.

(HARPAL SINGH),

Secretary General.

Copy with the request for necessary action to:
