Independent of Chennai CAT stay, the issue of DPC is being pursued with different authorities. In the last weekend, we met with the Joint Secretary in Law Ministry. It was told that the opinion of the DOPT has been asked. We requested him to expedite the issue and send the legal opinion to the CBEC independent of DOPT. He assured us to do the needful. Today, we met the Joint Secretary in DOPT. She told that the issue is being examined by the expert committee in view of the contempt case filed in Nagaraj case. We submitted that the promotions are to be affected on ad hoc basis and our officers of both categories are retiring without rarest IInd promotion in the career. They may at least be allowed to get ad hoc promotions which may be reviewed at the time of regularisation. She seemed to be agreed to this point and assured us to consider the issue accordingly. Let's see what happens.
