As we all know, the GST council has already
taken some important decisions about the share of assesses to be handled by the
Central Govt. and State governments. None of us, however, knows the actual
intricacies regarding GST but it seems that assessee base of Centre would
certainly be reduced at least at initial stage of implementation of GST. It is
expected to be reduced to around 9 lac from around 13 lac at initial stage for
Centre and this may certainly give the pretext to the CBEC to reduce the
manpower resulting in adverse effect of our already ‘the worst’ career
prospects. Accordingly, we also don’t know that the DPC for promotion to group
A from group B would be conducted for how many posts in near future or all
posts would be abolished. So, one day
AEC meeting will be held at Delhi on 04.02.17 on this issue. Therefore, Units
r requested to have meetings at local levels in the meantime. The delegates
coming to Delhi to attend the AEC meeting are requested to make own arrangements
for meeting. However, Delhi unit will provide every possible help to delegates.
Details regarding venue, schedule etc. will be sent soon. Points regarding our
career prospects in relation of GST are to be discussed in the meeting. However,
