Is it required at all to create a Federation amongst Inspectors & Superintendents of Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax? Many of us have rejected such idea on the ground that while both the Associations ( AICEIA & AIACEGEO) are performing their associational work very well , at this time it is not required to form such Federation. Initially there was one Association for all non gazetted employees of our Department, like ITEF. During mid sixty AIFCEEO was created. During 1988 , AIFCEGEO was created at Patna and AIFCEEO took the initiative for creation of such Federation. Basically AIFCEGEO was created to challenge the Gr-A RR in Apex Court jointly by AIFCEGEO & AIFCEEO. Due to introduction of Recognitions Rules the names of both the organizations have been changed to AIACEGEO & AICEIA. The Recognitions Rules have been amended during 2003 and by virtue of such amendment, Recognized, associations can forme federation amongst themselves for common causes.
JAC was also created during 1989 for agitation. COC was also created during 1997. Now JAC is conducting agitational program me, but AIACEGEO has not joined in JAC on two grounds 1st its charter of demands have not been included in the charter of demands of JAC and 2nd certain demands of JAC is contradictory to the demands of AIACEGEO.
At this stage AIACEGEO is having the opinion that for creation of Federation, first the common causes/issues must be identified, otherwise if any issue will contraindicate the issues of any association, then there is no use for creation of such Federation and for that matter AIACEGEO is suggesting for a adhoc committee to examine first about justification in creation of such Federation.
