1. A meeting of All India Confederation of Central Govt Group B Gazetted Officers was held at 
Chennai on 21.12.13. The main decisions taken in r/o the demands to be made for Group B
 Gazetted Officers to the 7th CPC are as under-
i) A pay scale equivalent to the grade pay of Rs. 5400/- in PB3 and next promotion to a STS post. 
ii) At least 5 functional promotions after entry into the job.
iii) Parity with CSS, the best placed group B cadre of the Govt of India.
iv) JCM/minuted meeting under employee grievance redressal mechanism for group B gazette 
officers.
v) Enhancement of cover under Group Insurance scheme.
vi) Etc. 
The next deliberations will be made by the confederation in the month of February, 2014.

2. Regarding the promotions against the existing vacancies, the reply of the CBEC is
 expected to be sent to the UPSC next week. Let’s see the outcome.
3. Some scheme to remove the stagnation of group B officers independent of the cadre restructuring has
 been sent to the Revenue Secretary with various options by the CBEC. Let’s see what is finalized. We
 all have to be well prepared to take any step for the best result, if their scheme doesn't suit to us.

 Confederation sought merger of 100 percent DA with effect from Jan 2014

A workshop organised by the Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officers’ Organisations,
Tamil Nadu region, has finalised the common minimum demands to be placed before the 7 Central Pay
 Commission, including a just and equitable pay at the entry level of Group ‘B’ officers.
It was also agreed upon at the workshop here on Saturday to demand a joint consultative machinery to
 redress their grievances and a minimum of five promotions during their tenure — from entry to Group ‘B’ level
 either by promotion or direct recruitment.
The workshop for the constituents of the Confederation sought merger of 50 per cent dearness allowance for
all purposes with effect from January 1, 2011 or 100 per cent DA with effect from January 1, 2014 for the serving
 officers. Other demands included free and hassle-free medical facilities to Group ‘B’ officers and adequate travel
entitlements.
