Sub: Request to suspend the marking of attendance biometric
machines.
Sir,
As you know, it is to submit with due regards that the
deadly corona virus has already taken thousands of lives throughout the world.
This epidemic is on continuous spread throughout the world and our country is also
not the exception to it.
2. The officers under CBIC mark the attendance by
touching the scanner on the biometric machine. Such type of the process is one
of the ways to spread the deadly corona virus. The possibility of getting
infected by the virus with the imprint of an infected person can’t no way be
ruled out under this process which will result into infecting other healthy
officers and further spreading this epidemic. Due to this reason, the biometric
attendance has already been suspended at many places.
3. In view of above, it is requested to suspend the
biometric attendance for the time being in all offices under the control of the
CBIC till the threat of the deadly virus is ended and allow the officers to
mark their attendance through conventional means in hygienic and healthy manner
as were being practiced in the past before the introduction of the biometric attendance.
It is also requested to provide hand sanitizers and liquid soaps in sufficient
quantities and also the medical masks and hand gloves to all of our officers
meant to protect them from the deadly virus.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
(HARPAL SINGH),
Secretary General.
