A meeting was held with the Member (P&V) yesterday on 14.03.17. The issues like DPC, shortage of staff, Transfer & posting, pay matter forwarded by DOPT etc. were discussed. Non-inclusion of promotional quota against regular posts in last DPC was raised. Accordingly, she was requested to initiate immediate steps to conduct the next DPC. She was positive on the issue and said to do the needful soon. Regarding transfers & postings of the newly promoted Asstt. Commissioners (who are our members as per Constitution of our Association), she was requested to make no displacement or minimum displacement. She said that she would do her best. Shortage of working hands with the Superintendents was also discussed. She said that we are already on the job to recruit required number of Inspectors and Tax Assistants. She was also requested to promote the eligible Tax Assistants to the post of Inspector based on the qualifying service at par with CBDT as also requested by our ministerial officers to us. She assured to do the needful. She was also requested to do something for Drivers as requested by them to us. She said that a scheme may be devised for their promotion to clerical cadre. She was also requested to do the needful on our pay matters in r/o our representation forwarded to CBEC through Revenue Hqrs by DOPT as a result of our meeting with DOPT Secretary. She assured to do the needful. She was also requested to look into other issues of our cadre as well as other cadres by having periodical meetings. She agreed to this point and intended to have such meeting probably in the month of April or May and at every quarter after that. She said that field formations have already been directed to hold such meetings.
