To,
The Additional Secretary and Director
General,
CGHS, Nirman Bhawan,
New Delhi.
Sub: Cashless facility to
the serving beneficiaries of CGHS.
Sir,
It
is to submit with due regards that all private hospitals and diagnostic centres
empanelled under CGHS have been directed to provide treatment/investigations to
the pensioners and their families having CGHS cards on cashless basis which is
really an appreciable step. But serving employees and their family members
covered under CGHS have not been granted this facility.
2. For the want of cashless facility, the serving officers
and their families are facing great difficulties in getting treatment and
investigations from the private hospitals and diagnostic centres empanelled
under CGHS. On many occasions, they are forced to pay hefty bills at such private
hospitals and diagnostic centres without having knowledge whether the whole
bill is covered under CGHS or not. When they submit these bills in their
offices for reimbursement, heavy cuts are made on the amounts paid by them
because of not being aware of the mischief made by the private hospital and/or
diagnostic centre.
3. During Covid situation, many Covid affected CGHS beneficiaries were admitted in private
empanelled hospitals in emergency. Such empanelled private hospitals initially impressed them to be in free wards but later charged hefty amounts
from them.
4. In view of the above, it is requested to kindly allow the cashless
facility to all central govt. employees and their family members. It is also
worth to mention that the employees of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
have already been allowed to have credit facility in private hospitals and
diagnostic centres.
Thanking
you,
Yours sincerely,
(HARPAL SINGH),
Secretary General.
