I am getting regular calls about the DPC, number of vacancies and panel years for which DPC is being conducted for the post of Asstt. Commissioner. Friends, DPC is being conducted for the panel years of 2016-17 and 2017-18. However, every effort is being made to get it done even for the transition year 2018 (covering the period from 01.04.18 to 31.12.18) and this effort will continue till last moment until DPC is completed. As far as the number is concerned, the CBEC filed the affidavit in the Hon'ble Supreme Court that they had to fill up approximately 600 vacancies for the year 2016-17 and 2017-18. It means that the number of vacancies may be between 500 and 700. The number of vacancies may increase further, if the DPC is also happened for the transition year 2018. If DPC for the transition year 2018 is not happened alongwith, every effort will be made to get it done at the earliest.
